Omega’s new Planet Ocean Watch, the BLOCKBUSTER, is raising just a little concern with owners and lookers alike. It seems that in a new departure the anti-reflective coating is on the outside and well as the inside of the crystal.

On the face of it this seems like a bad idea, a virtually unscratchable sapphire crystal with a scratchable coating on top! Feedback from the forums seems to be “no big deal” and I would agree. Maybe Omega are looking to launch a range of sunglasses for when all those anti-reflective coatings wear off.

Swiss watch exports totaled over 1,009 million SF reports the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry, the first time ever the monthly Swiss export of watches crossed the 1 billion SF mark, a 23 percent rise over April 2004.
During the January-April period exports rose a more modest 9.9 percent to 3.5 billion SF.
The most notable Swiss watchmaker is the Swatch Group, which includes brands Omega, Blancpain, Rado, and Swatch.

Kennedy and Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy may be sold to the public under terms of a settlement agreement reached today between the National Archives (NARA), Caroline Kennedy and Jacquelyn E. White, the widow of Kennedy memorabilia collector Robert L. White.
